Daily dose of protein
I just “calculated” my daily intake of Whey and am a little shocked.
It is marked on the label that you have to take 1gr per “pound of body weight (1 pound).
1 pound = 453.59237 grams, I weigh about 65 kg, ie 145 pounds. Which gives me 145 gr of whey per day (in the photo, the dispenser next to it is 32 g, I also checked on a scale.).
I would like to check with the regulars to be sure: do you really consume that much per day ?! The dose seems enormous to me. ! I may not have understood something well …
for a good dosage of protein it is necessary to take 1 g per kilo of body weight up to 2 g for a competitor in bodybuilding for example. For the dosage of your Whey look on:

Thanks Tito. Since I am not a competitor I should settle for half of my dose. Already that reassures me.
As for the link, it was not my Whey. And they talk about a dose of 30-40 gr.
if you workout it’s around 1.5g of protein per kg per day, so if you are 70kg that’s 105g of protein
per day. The body can only assimilate a quantity of 30 to 40gr max of protein per dose so it is necessary to take several doses throughout the day, meals and supplements included.
Are all the doses recommended by the RDAs only for survival? optimum intake is different.
I recommend 2.2g per kilo divided over 6 meals.
Yes, 2.2 gr / kg of weight / day is ideal (or even 2.5 for pure ectomorphs).
A confirmed bodybuilder should take 3gr.
Thank you all for your responses.
No, I don’t weight training, I swim. I think 2gr / kg is a bit too much (it gives me the dose of the photo).
I decided to take one dose (around 30gr) before training, one after and one the next morning. What do you think ?
What is ectomorphic survival optimum intake?
When we say 2gr, it is not fair with the powder, it is all the proteins provided by the diet.
“What is ectomorphic survival optimum intake?”
This is surely the minimum protein intake for an ectomorph to retain its lean mass.
We do not know suddenly it varies from 90 to 120 gr / day.
But then for a 70kg 1m75 guy, 105 gr / day seems a bit too much.
Better to move towards an intake of 85 90g gross / day divided into 3 to 4 times + 2 liters of water. By counting full meals.
