Idea of a food supplement to gain muscle following anorexia?
Good morning all!
I have suffered from anorexia for more than 5 months now, I am 16 years old I measure 1.59 for about 41kg … My doctor told me that I am currently losing muscle and I am really motivated to gain weight , (as quickly as possible!) because I risk forced hospitalization and I really don’t want to …
For about 1 week I normally eat more (3 large meals + 2 snacks) but the problem is that I do not take nothing (+ 100gr / week)
Would you please have an idea of a food supplement (if possible something natural …) that I could take for myself?
help to regain muscle (and therefore weight) very quickly and harmoniously?
Thank you in advance!
There are about 7000
calories in a pound . This goes for the calories of the food we eat, for the calories we burn during sports or any other activity that requires energy.
This means that every time you take in
7,000 calories , you are a kilo heavier.
However, taking in 7000 calories in a day is not only unhealthy, but also impossible, so one must gradually take in these 7000 calories.
For example, taking 500 more calories each day is equivalent to taking 1,500 per week, synonymous with a
weight gain of about a kilo per week.
You just have to increase your daily calorie intake if you want to
gain weight faster.
Since you are putting on weight even if it is only 100 gr, it means that you are on the right track.
To increase your muscle mass, do gentle strengthening exercises.
To help you gain weight you could try brewer’s yeast.
I give you a link with advice:
Thank you for your reply!
Yes, I really hope to be on the right track … The problem is that I have to gain at least 2 kg in 2 weeks!
While looking on the net, I thought to take Fortimel compact protein (300kcal / 125ml), does anyone know?
I take it as I said
I recommend that you take whey powder which is extremely rich in all kinds of essential substances which you must certainly miss after an episode of anorexia. You can mix this powder with milk or chocolate, or even soup.
You must also eat liver (veal or beef) to recover vitamin B12 (it is likely that you are deficient in this vitamin).
But you did, so well done and good luck!
Good evening leolec,
Thank you very much for the support!
I am currently taking a Fortimel Extra 300kcal / 200ml to taste (around 5pm) in addition to a “normal” diet, for the moment I am not really gaining weight …
Thank you for the advice anyway!
To increase muscle mass while avoiding losing it: Omega 3, 1 to 3 grams per day. The rest eat normally and why not do weight training. (it is sure that muscle mass is the most important for health)
