The egg myth
Hello everyone Can someone enlighten me on the egg as a complement.
I workout to gain muscle mass, and therefore increase the amount of food at meals, I eat two eggs for lunch among other things and two raw eggs after training.
I have heard that egg yolk is full of colesterol.
is it good to eat so much egg? should we eat that white? is it a good complement?
Thank you for your information.
Yes, egg yolk is one of the foods that proportionately contains the most cholesterol. (we often talk about 150 to 300mg)
However, it plays relatively little on LDL-cholesterol (the “bad cholesterol” which clogs the arteries), being consuming cholesterol has little impact on the cholesterol level bio-medical analyzes.
What to see before worrying is the amount of overall lipid ingested (better not to drink oil from the bottle) and the nature of its lipids (for example if there is a lot of unsaturated fatty acid is bad), it is these parameters that tend to vary the rates more. So don’t worry, if that really reassures you, you can still consume 2 white and 1 yellow.
Egg white is a source of protein.
A dietary supplement in bodybuilding is intrinsically linked to the diet itself, your supplementation should not be seen as sufficient on its own but for the contributions to be supplemented therefore relatively to your conventional diet. In short, a global vision is always better than a segmented one.
When gaining mass, the glycemic, lipid and protein intakes should be increased in a manner equivalent PROPORTIONALLY to the recommended intakes. So a dietary supplement is good if it addresses the difference between your diet and your needs. In short: impossible to answer your question.
