Which spirulina to choose?
Hello everyone
I want to take spirulina I read very regularly that it is excellent for strengthening the immune system and that there are many anti-oxidants.
But while looking for spirulina on the internet I found plenty of all kinds and of course they are all the best
………
I wanted to know for those who consume it what were your criteria of choice?
Thank you in advance for your help See you
soon
Hello Lopreta
You are right it is not easy to find your way around the spirulina. Personally, I was in the same situation and I learned a lot about the subject here are a few points to summarize:
– French spirulina are far from being the best in terms of nutritional value and that is what we are looking for in a spirulina…
– This is due to our climate, which is not favorable to the development of algae, producers always wishing to produce in winter must therefore heat the ponds, which is not very ecological…
– On the other hand they make it possible to preserve employment in France and dimensioned nutritional value they have more iron (much more) than the tropical spirulina it is its only advantage but it is far from being negligible for all the people in lack of iron
– It is necessary to privilege the form of flakes or then cold-dried tablets, in capsules the benefits volatilizes by half. If you don’t mind the taste, take some glitter otherwise the tablets are great
– Tropical spirulina I recommend 4 origins in North China, India, Taiwan, Hawaii
– They have great protein, phycocyanin, beta-carotene and vitamin values but little iron
In terms of advice at the moment I am taking an Organic Spirulina from the NINGXIA region which is processed in France which is better

This is MironLab spirulina
After you can find others
I hope this will help you

Hello,
I am surprised not to see a return to your forum, I also struggled to find a good well dosed and effective Spirulina. I order my spirulina on
www.vitajuvence.fr
it is produced in France in an artisanal way and for me it does. You have to be careful with spirulina there are plenty of brands that say they are French but I did the test I called several customer services because the origin of the ingredients was not specified and sometimes the spirulina comes from China !!! some say it is organic the Chinese … lol
It is better to have artisanal French traceability than an organic speudo label from the other side of the world. Finally in any case I take premium spirulina in particular and all my friends who play sports we do the test and they have less pain. me for the iron me gynecologist approved and saw my iron level go up to my annual blood test; o)
So here is if you have any questions do not hesitate

For having dug a little bit on spirulina, on paper it is an excellent food. Lots of protein and a lot of micronutrients. But there is a big downside:
It’s extremely expensive for what it brings. Often you have packages of 1g, and in 1g there is not necessarily much. Lots of other foods that provide as much or even more nutrients for A LOT cheaper.
– Magnesium is found in larger quantities in vegetables
– B vitamins are found much more in brewer’s yeast for example
-Proteins are found more and much cheaper in meat, fish, or tofu, seitan. For everything I have just mentioned, we use 20g of protein per 100g (i.e. 3 times less than in spirulina) for 8 to 25 € per kg. So at isoquantity of proteins, spirulina is at least twice as expensive.
-For iron there are supplements in pharmacies for people who lack it, for 20 to 50x cheaper
-For beta carotenes (pro A), there are 10x more in carrots.
Eating a balanced, healthy diet rich in vegetables will also provide you with plenty of anti-oxidants and will put your immune system in the best possible condition.
Spirulina is a good food that would be competitive and interesting by being much cheaper, but as it is, other foods do as well or even better for much less. There is unfortunately too much miracle food marketing around …
After that if you have the funds to indulge yourself
.
Have a good day !
Hello !
There are several things to check:
Purity: how much pure spirulina per tablet
The smell
The color
The origin: it must have been grown in a certain water
The cultivation method …
And you also have the consumption form ( the straw packaging seems the best).
I had read this article which explains all the criteria rather well if you are interested:

I ended up ordering a brand on Amazon and I am very happy 🙂
hi
lopreta
I take my case, because I have been a consumer for a little over 6 years and I prefer the origin “concerning me France” and in organic.
I am completely satisfied, I have not had a bad experience.
On the other hand, I combine spirulina with moringa over short periods, but I pay attention to the dosage. Always pay attention to how much you take.
Here is an article if you are interested

I am relaunching the subject a bit because read that you have to choose a French spirulina and I am in total agreement with that
However this weekend I came across an article which advised against French spirulina for many reasons and in particular the fact that our The climate is not the right one for spirulina so you have to heat the pools and it’s not very green.
Without going into the details of the article what do you think of me that makes me doubt and at the same time I do not see myself bought abroad especially at the moment ….

in fact French spirulina is not necessarily the best
In summary:
French spirulina has a better iron content
Spirulina from tropical climates (India, America ..) will have a better antioxidant rate and will have more easily biological enhancement compared to French
After all depends on your needs because for the rest it is really comparable
