who knows and has already taken
the seal alli I saw it in pharmacy and I am interested
Alli is only recommended for a very high BMI. Ask your doctor for advice.
In addition, you still have to go on a diet; )
but I am already on a diet and my BMI is 41 here
my pharmacist said it was crap like a lot of people have tried it on the internet.
very expensive and very restrictive in terms of food!
Beware of the many traps that Alli sets for you
In the very lucrative slimming market, no drug has hitherto treated obesity without serious side effects: appetite suppressants, which act on neurotransmitters, do not work, say the doctors.
The Acomplia, launched by Sanofi-Aventis, was also withdrawn from the market in October.
Surgery, in particular the fitting of a gastric band to reduce the volume of the stomach, is certainly effective but heavy, restrictive and risky.
Alli, which consists in inflicting the punishment of defecating fat in case of excess, should therefore be a hit. Women’s forums are already excited about this magic formula for the line, smuggled on the Internet.
But beware of the many traps that Alli sets for you.
Punish me if I eat too much fat
Alli is reserved for people who are overweight, that is to say, whose body mass index (BMI), which is calculated by dividing his weight by his height squared, is greater than 25 (the figure is 30 for the obese). This amounts to weighing around 75 kilos for 1.60 m, and concerned 29.2% of the French population in 2006 according to the ObEpi study
The path Alli explored is as follows: the easiest way to get rid of fat is not to metabolize it. Concretely, it is a “lipase inhibitor”, which limits the action of the enzyme responsible for “breaking” the lipids ingested into small bricks easily assimilated by the body.
It uses orlistat, the molecule used in Xenical, a drug from Roche laboratories from which GSK bought it. It is half-dose (60 mg instead of 120) but promises 80% of the effectiveness of Xenical.
When we ingest Alli, we are forced to be either very disciplined (no more cracking food), or very available.
Understand: never far from the toilet, because eating fat despite the recommendations leads to unpleasant discomforts, like “gastro” (fatty gas, even uncontrollable diarrhea).
Alli is therefore above all a way of externalizing his desire for a diet: “Make me eat healthily.” And punish me if I don’t ”. Hurts me, Alli, Alli, Alli…
An imposed diet
Alli promises to make you lose one more kilo for two lost by the diet it imposes. Because, as Martine Frey, medical director at GSK explains, it is a “reward” that accompanies a diet:
“If you don’t follow the diet that goes with it, you only have the drawbacks [diarrhea, note], but you don’t lose weight. It is an encouragement to have a healthy and virtuous diet: if you eat too much fat, it sounds the alarm signal. Alli makes you aware of what to do.
Losing weight requires a healthy and balanced diet, and an increase in physical activity. It is not a magic pill that makes you lose three pounds in three days, it is a long term approach, which is not effective if you do not follow the diet. ”
Another drawback Alli causes vitamin deficiencies. Moreover, the American site of Alli encourages diet candidates to take a multivitamin supplement to restore balance.
Pharmacists at the checkpoint
Problem, over-the-counter behind the pharmacist’s counter, it risks being widely diverted. The pharmacist’s advisory role is greatly enhanced by GSK, which will release a booklet accompanying the taking of the product and will train professionals.
But there is no guarantee that traders will verify that the customer is indeed overweight.
